FAQ
Q: What is the different between I-Ride, I-Ride Express and I-Ride NOW?
A:
I-Ride is our regular transportation service that covers all of Southampton Roads and Western Tidewater. This service requires an extended booking period of two-weeks in advance.
I-Ride NOW offers same-day, on-demand services (much like Uber). It is currently only offered in the Suffolk and Portsmouth area.
I-Ride Express requires you to schedule your ride ahead of time, but short term notice is available. This service is only offered in Norfolk, Franklin, and Isle of Wight County in place of our fixed route service areas.
Q: Where can I-Ride take me?
A: Our I-Ride service can take you anywhere within 30 minutes of your pick-up location. However, we are unable to provide service to the Peninsula.
Q: Why the change from fixed routes?
A: Starting October 1st, all fixed route services (excluding Windsor) will be changed to I-Ride Express. This change will allow us to serve more older adults who need to get around the Southside and Western Tidewater.
Q: Is there a cost for me to ride?
A: I-Ride has no required fee, but a voluntary donation of $ 4 each way is appreciated.
