“We are so pleased to have Humana as the presenting sponsor for our signature, regional conference,” said SSSEVA CEO John Skirven. “The Art of Healthy Aging Forum & Expo” has become the go-to event for seniors and their families in South Hampton Roads. It offers an opportunity to learn from top professionals in the fields of aging, to exchange ideas and to become aware of the many resources our region offers to support successful aging.”

The half-day regional conference will also feature a slate of workshop sessions and “A Salute to Caregivers,” which in its third year will pay special tribute to three caregiver nominees: a family caregiver for an individual 60+, a family caregiver of a military veteran 60+, and a professional caregiver. A call for nominations from the community will go out late this summer.

Along with these program highlights, there will be health screenings, and attendees will be able to visit the exhibition hall, where 65-70 vendors will be available to share information about their products and services – all designed to support the health and lifestyle needs of seniors and their families.

Last year’s forum drew 500 seniors and family members as well as healthcare professionals, according to SSSEVA, a not-for-profit agency and the designated Area Agency on Aging in South Hampton Roads. The $20 registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch as well as access to all program offerings. Online registration ends November 7th. Tickets are $25 at the door. Forum sponsors to date include returning sponsors, JenCare Neighborhood Medical Centers, the Hook Law Center, AAA Tidewater Virginia, and As You Wish Advance Care Planning. First time-sponsors include TowneBank and Checkered Flag Toyota.
