Senior Services Honors Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group
Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia awarded the Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group its President’s Award for Volunteerism.
Norfolk, Va. (February 10, 2017) – Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia awarded the Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group its President’s Award for Volunteerism. For the past 15 years, Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group’s philanthropic arm, Atlantic Bay Cares, has partnered with the agency through the Senior Wish List program to fulfill the wishes of hundreds of area seniors during the holiday season.
“Atlantic Bay provides gifts to seniors we serve who are in need of things such as microwaves and personal items that they cannot afford and aren’t covered by any entitlements,” Colleen Downes, Senior Services community services manager, explained when she presented the group with the award Thursday, Jan. 26, during the agency’s annual meeting at the Marriott Chesapeake. “This year, the Atlantic Bay Group provided more than 350 gifts to the clients in all of our service areas. Many of them cried when they received the gifts.”
“We are so honored to have been given the President’s Award for Volunteerism,” said Tiffany Tyler, Atlantic Bay Cares director. “Partnering with Senior Services for Senior Wish List is one of the highlights of our year! It is certainly a team effort and a tradition we look forward to each holiday season.”
Atlantic Bay is committed to making a difference in the communities it serves year after year. For the past 20 years, the Virginia Beach–based privately owned mortgage lender has served more than 100,000 homeowners and remains dedicated to staying true to ethical lending practices and building a solid reputation of trust within the community. In concert, Atlantic Bay Cares strives to change lives in local communities by doing good through employee volunteerism, giving back with financial support, and increasing awareness of causes meaningful to its employees and customers.
“It is such a privilege to partner with Atlantic Bay,” Downes said. “We can’t do what we do without the generosity of such community partners.”
