Each year, more and more older adults are making a positive impact in and around our South Hampton Roads and Western Tidewater communities. As volunteers, employees, employers, educators, mentors, advocates, and more, they offer insight and experience that benefit the entire community. That’s why the Administration for Community Living leads Older Americans Month (OAM) and has been recognizing the contributions of this growing population for 56 years. At Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia our mission is to support these seniors in staying active, independent, and involved in the community for as long as possible.
SSSEVA hosts events throughout the month of May to celebrate OAM and volunteers are frequently needed to support these fun events throughout the community. Read more about the OAM events in 2019 here.
