We Hope You'll Connect With Us in 2018!

As the new Chief Operating Officer for Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, I have been spending the last few weeks learning the breadth and width of the services our team provides to the Hampton Roads community, and it’s truly impressive!

Did you know that there are seniors going hungry in your community? Through Senior Services efforts over 172,000 nutrition-rich meals were served to seniors right here in South Hampton Roads.

Have you considered how your life will be impacted when you can no longer drive? Isolation, loneliness, and depression can be side effects, not to mention difficulty getting medical attention. That’s why Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia provided 59,520 rides through our I-Ride services this year.

Signing up for Medicare benefits can be confusing. Last year we made signing up for Medicare benefits easy for more than 3,500 seniors through our Benefits Counseling.

Our Senior Companion, Wellness, and Care Coordination programs provide seniors with opportunities that promote health, wholeness, and independence.

Finally, the No Wrong Door information network seamlessly connects seniors and caregivers to over 26,000 programs and more than 500 professionals, right from our .

The most amazing thing, however, is our people. From our CEO, to those who pick up the phone, to our volunteers and everyone in between, we are a family who enjoys serving others – and it shows.

Why not join our family in 2018? We need people like you who care about others. There are many ways you can help.

  1. Get Involved: Be social, make friends, and be happy. Sign up for one of our exercise programs, come to our Art of Healthy Aging Forum, or join us for a meal at a senior center.
  2. Volunteer: Help us help those who need a helping hand. We work according to your schedule, and at your pace. It’s fun and rewarding to be a volunteer at Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia.
  3. Donate: As a not-for-profit organization, your donations help us serve seniors and veterans in our community. A gift of $25 will provide meals for 5 people in need.

I’m so thrilled to now be a part of the Senior Services family. I hope you’ll join our family too.
