Senior Services New MedCare Access Program

Seniors and people with disabilities who need “Extra Help” have a new place to turn in the Western Tidewater area. Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia has begun operating the new MedCare Access program, serving residents of Franklin, Isle of Wight County, Southampton County and Suffolk.

MedCare Access will help locate and assist income-eligible “extra help” beneficiaries who have questions about the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit or who need help selecting a plan. Individuals can also use the program to connect to an array of services, such as meal delivery to those who are homebound and transportation and wellness programs.

For information, call Ann Okeefe at (757) 328-4217. The program is funded with a grant from the Obici Healthcare Foundation.
