SENIOR SERVICES ELECTS NEW OFFICERS
(Hampton Roads, Va., Feb. 22, 2010) – William A. Murden, president, CEO and co-founder of FamilyCare Senior Solutions Inc., has been elected new board president of Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia.
Murden has served on the board of directors of Senior Services for five years.
Joining Murden in new two-year terms as officers and executive committee members of Senior Services are:
- First Vice President Delceno C. Miles, president and CEO of The Miles Agency.
- Second Vice President Ken Shewbridge, president of TCI Voice and Data Networks.
- Treasurer David A. Price Sr., founder of Price Tax Accounting LLC.
- Secretary Shernita Bethea, housing and human services manager of the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission.
- Executive Committee member W. Maurice Biggs Jr., a retired Army lieutenant colonel.
- Executive Committee member Herbert W. DeGroft, immediate past president of Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia and retired human resources director of Smithfield Packing Co.
- Executive Committee member Cecil Jenkins, president of the Cecil Jenkins Insurance Agency Inc.
- Executive Committee member Joice Whitehorn, an assistant director of Suffolk Social Services.
Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia is the regional not-for-profit organization in South Hampton Roads that supports and enriches the lives of older Virginians and their families through advocacy, education, information and comprehensive services.
